Dr. Rahma Nasser Jeris Al-Qathanin: Director of the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Center for Environmental and Tourism Research and Studies at King Khalid University, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology, College of Science, King Khalid University, part-time consultant at the Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification.
She is one the distinguished academic competencies and one of the most ambitious national experiences, as she obtained a bachelor’s degree from King Khalid University, specializing in biology in 1429 AH, then she obtained a master’s degree from King Abdulaziz University, specializing in botany in 1432 AH, then she obtained a doctorate in the field of plant diversity conservation strategies and classification from University of Reading, United Kingdom, in 2020, where she was appointed to the position of Assistant Professor, Department of Biology, College of Science, King Khalid University, 2020.
She held many scientific and administrative positions, the most prominent of which are: Vice-Dean of the University Center for the Study of Female Students for Development and Quality, Supervisor of the Biology Department in the College of Science, Director of the Prince Sultan Center for Environmental and Tourism Research and Studies, she worked in many scientific committees and councils and Saudi and foreign associations and participated in many courses, seminars and conferences inside the Kingdom And outside it, she is a scientific member in the studies of the Green Saudi Project at the level of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The doctor has published more than 30 research papers in distinguished scientific publications with a strong impact factor.
And she supervised a number of postgraduate theses (Master's) in research fields that are concerned with environmental sustainability, understanding plant diversity, and contributing to the preservation of plant diversity with various possible biological techniques. Saudi Arabia and contributing to the most appropriate environmental solution, contributing to combating invasive plants and developing applied scientific control strategies, studying the impact of forest fires and other threats on forest diversity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as preserving perennial trees and contributing to planning the path of research and studies in preserving and propagating perennial trees in Asir region..

Work in the field of the environment also needs planning, implementation, and follow-up in the short and long term to study the impact, application, and feasibility of its impact. Therefore, the doctor was actively contributing to the formation of different work teams inside and outside the Kingdom to exchange important experiences in the environmental and agricultural field and encourage research and innovation in the environment and agriculture in line with the current trends in the Kingdom and the future of these fields in the long term, God willing.
